석별의 정[올드랭사인,Auld Lang Syne]

영국 스코틀랜드의 시인 로버트 번스의 가곡.
작곡 : 로버트 번스
1788년에 작곡되었다.
곡명은 '그리운 옛날'이라는 뜻이며, 한국에서는 '석별'이라는 이름으로 알려졌다.
이 노래는 전세계적으로 이별할 때 불리고 있으나 내용은 다시 만났을 때의 기쁨을 노래하고 있다.
"어릴 때 함께 자란 친구를 잊어서는 안 돼. 어린시절에는 함께 데이지를 꺾고 시냇물에서 놀았지.
그후 오랜 동안 헤어져 있다 다시 만났네.
자아, 한 잔 하세." 하면서 다시 만 날 수 있게 되기를 빌며 헤어질 때 부르고 있다.
한국에서는 1900년을 전후하여 애국가를 이 곡조를 따서 부르기도 했다.
